Surprise for Beth, Rollin' in the 'Chester, I Had Liposuction

Wow. What an exciting week. So exciting I've been a bit remiss in blogging about it - apologies!

Actually - backtrack! Two weeks ago we were invited to attend one surprise birthday party for one super-surprised Beth Parks! I had a surprise party thrown for me once and I can tell you from experience they are super fun. Of course, I was a bit put off when the school I worked for for five years wasn't even going to do like... cake in the break room or something when I left, and when Mr. Smith and I were about like T minus three days left at Ringling and counting, I was totally taken by surprise with a surprise going away party! I was, in fact, surprised!

But on to Beth's big day!

Her husband, Brandon, did it right. He contacted three of Beth's friends (moi included) and gave us his credit card number hahahahhaha. Beth was under the impression that since her family was in town they would all go by boat to Ruth's Chris and have a nice, quiet family supper there for her 30th birthday.

the boat approaching "ruth's chris"

Little did Beth know that two stops on the river before Ruth's Chris... this was waiting:

her friends (including ME) waving maniacally to her from the boathouse. check out the banner!

beth upon realizing all her nearest and dearest were there to celebrate with her, and brandon driving the boat thinking "SCOOOOOOOORRRREEEE!!!!!"

Once the boat docks, we wait for them to tie up and get inside.

here we have me waiting (im)patiently

Fun night had by all! Jenny-Poo gave an excellent report on all the festivities here.

The planning of the party required the creative genius of many of us.

the theme was 'some things are timeless' and the jenny photoshop'ed beth's face on many works of art (see jenny's blog for full report!) for table tents and tshirts, but this one was my favorite - beth with a pearl earring!

i made her a miss america sash and cutie-pie ames hussar embroidered it

best wishes for many many more, beth! hope i'm invited next year too!

Oh but may I just say?

check out my guns.

see?
