I'm A Sad Disappointment...

Despite the fact I had a fabulous and wonderful weekend, I didn't take many photos. In fact, I took THREE. I can explain away one day's activities - I forgot my camera at home. But, I borrowed Kristina's! I will try to do better in the future.

Oh, I should mention that Mr. Smith was away for the weekend. In Las Vegas. For a bachelor party. Hm. Well the same bug must have bitten Mr. Smith as me because oddly enough, he didn't take a single picture either. Fancy that. How convenient.

Friday night I skipped out of town with one Mrs. Tab Burkhalter and went up to the lake to spend the night at Sweet T Lodge on the lake. Amanda and John were given a weekend stay there for their wedding and were cashing in on the goods. They were kind enough to put us up there for the night along with Emily Womac. Despite the fact that it was IN-credibly gorgeous weather/weekend/lake and I had a ball, I did not snap one pic. Not. One. Sigh. Thank you johnson/Womacs for the night away!

After a refreshing night's sleep and a NICE four miles around the lake (super nice. epic run.) I got cleaned up and headed out for....

*drum roll*

The first UT game of the season! YEA!!! Tailgate, Tailgate, Tailgate!

Oh and you should know that although Mr. Smith was three time zones away this was the most action I got all weekend:

and a M-WAH! me smooching one mr. chris stevens. i took this picture to send to tommy. oddly enough, mr. stevens insisted on three takes to get the perfect shot. and yes, he's flipping tommy the bird.

Tailgate season off to a good start!

i'm uber good at the self-photo. beth, tabby, moi, ki and amber all scrunch in.

Then, into the game! It was very exciting. I always insist we get in to watch the running through the T although I am sometimes accused of being a nerd for wanting to watch the band. Humph!

we made it in time!

Now, far be it for me to point any fingers, but Little Miss Kristina's eye was caught by a couple of gentlemen from New Orleans. The feeling was mutual, and hence: a full-blown macking-on session started post haste.

oh wait - apparently i got more action this weekend than i thought. here's me getting another smooch from mrs. parks!

With Ki and the boys respectively macking, and without anybody to play with I got bored. And started taking pictures of myself.

thumbs up!

my bemused look

This went on for awhile, I'll not bore you with details....

I got tired fourth quarter and took a cab home. Which, by the way, do you know how easy it is to catch a cab in Knoxville? It is! All I did was walk to the strip, walk backwards walking downtown and three minutes later I hailed my first cab in my hometown. $10 and 15 minutes later I was in my own bed!

Wait. I just crunched the numbers on that... ah well. I got home.

Next day: KER-BLEWEY! I think we've established I have a bit of a pyro in me and I love love love fireworks. Boomsday was Sunday night and it is literally the best firework show I have ever seen and I worked at Disney World, remember? I got tickets to go to the East Club and watch the show, which = THE BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE. With access to Co-Colas, flush toilets and Neyland Stadium.

So here are a couple of cute pics that Kristina had taken this weekend:

a whimsical self photo

here you can see the city of knoxville behind us as we patiently wait for the fireworks to start

Here are two of the craptacular three pics I took this weekend with my camera:

my date ki and me - you can't see but the firecracks are going off behind us

me and ki - you can't see, but neyland stadium is behind us

So not only did I take NO PHOTOS, the ones I did take STUNK.

But I sure had fun. Mr. Smith came home from Vegas on Monday broke, but I was sure glad to see him!

AND - turnabout's fair play... the Vegas bachelor party was for one Mr. Marty Mason, and next weekend I'm off to NASH-Vegas for the bechelorette party for his betrothed, Ms. Shawn O'Donnell! Hey, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right? (Granger, 2010)*

Hm. On second thought, maybe I should leave my camera at home.
