RIP Blue Dean, My National TV Debut

I have to start this blog post off with some very very very very very very very very very very very very VERY sad news:

I lost my camera, Blue Dean.

She was riding in a bumper car and she got left by accident. The worst part about it was that it was the final event in an otherwise wonderful evening. Little cousin Ashton and I headed out last week to the TVA and I Fair (thanks Booter-Dooter for the tickets, parking pass AND letting me borrow your handbag!) where we ate ourselves silly then rode ourselves sick on rides (me sick, not her. Come to think of it, I really should have done the 'ate ourselves silly' after the 'rode ourselves sick on rides.' Lesson learned!)

There were some really great moments we had together too! We both got ourselves worked up to ride the haunted house then both kinda freaked out before taking off and both tried to bail when the ride started and... we both rode with locked arms and our eyes completely covered (I literally saw NOTHING) and the whole ride lasted maybe 45 seconds (I would have been mad if we hadn't paid for armbands and could ride all the rides on it - if I'd burned ride tickets on that, I would have been FURIOUS!). And one carnie said something about me being Ashton's sister and Ashton thought that it was really cool until I noted that he likely thought I was her MOTHER and was merely being polite. One ride I flat out refused to go on (immediately post-cheeseburger, thankyouverymuch) so the carnie told me I could drive it with him (I almost bailed when I saw ONE bucket seat but he didn't even try to make me sit in his lap, he scootched over and gave me half the seat {see Tommy? Even carnies have a code of ethics} and I got some REALLY AWESOME pics of Ashton in that ride from a vantage point of view. We rode the bumper cars SEVEN TIMES and that's where mine and Blue Dean's ways parted. I hope she's gone to a good home. SNIFF.

I said a lot of wordy dirds when it was official Blue Dean was gone. I did. Sorry, Ashton...

But mostly I hated that I lost all those great pics of me and Ashton! We really had non-stop fun. So, upon hearing about the loss of Blue Dean (after a cussing which I deserved {sidebar: Tommy's iPod died about two hours before Blue Dean went missing so he and I are in the hole about $600 worth of electronics just like that}) he offered to do the next best thing: He listened to the most things Ashton and I did at the fair and drew pictures to make up for it.

So here you go, Ashton! Here's our night at the fair!

bumper cars are a huge hit according to ashton (yes, her hair is purple according to mr. smith)

the ferris wheel is more my speed

we went on this upside downey thing that i didn't know was upside downey (i thought it worked by GRAVITY, yo - and since i got about 100 lbs on ashton i thought all we'd do was me weight it down and we'd swing back and forth - NOT THE CASE. it spins upside down. ashton got off and all she could say was, 'gosh megan. you freaked out.' I DID.)

Ashton, I had a great time with you! We will hang out again soon!

Next up, UF vs. UT game. I don't want to talk about it. All I can say is, I'm happy to report that the Vols put up a good fight.

AND I GOT ON TV. NATIONAL TV.

I'm famous, see?

me, me! on tv! me, me! on tv!

cbs came by our tailgate before the game and recorded us cheering for the vols! see? here i am! FRONT AND CENTER! that's me, megan smith, saying, "go vols, beat gators!" to everyone in the whole wide us of a. TA and DOW.

Care to see the whole segment?

humph. tommy's always stealing my thunder.

Anyway - I'm in the market for a new camera and should be back in blog business very soon. Hug!
