Playoff Game With the Falcons. No, Literally.

Short post this week!

Before I get to the playoff game, please allow me to tell you that it is official. I have entered into a life of crime. On Saturday, I girded up my loins to run 15 miles as part of my marathon training program. It had been so super snowy the whole week, but I wasn't worried; Saturday's highs were going to be in the 40s and the end of the week had been warm enough to melt most of the remaining snow.

Until I got to Ijams. I ran 15 miles on snow and ice.

but apparently i don't mind so much. this is a breather at the end of mile ten.

Even Mama and Dipsey underestimated the warm weather and were still shoveling snow on Sunday.
i am just watching them work here, no joke. i'm the worst daughter ever. well. tommy's right beside me watching them work so i guess that makes him pretty rotten too.

But on to the life of crime part!

I run at Ijams a whole lot on a two-mile out and back trail (two miles in, two miles out). In my first mile I ran past this cutie pie hat that someone had obviously dropped without noticing, and another someone passing by the same path sometime later had noticed and picked up, because it was perched on top of a fence post so in the event that someone #1 went back to look for the dropped hat it would be clearly visible and not lying on the ground. As I said, I made note of the cute hat in mile one. I ran past it six more times. On the eighth passing as I finished my run I TOOK IT.

i figured if someone #1 wanted it bad enough they'd come back and get it. after three hours of looking at it, i totally played a finders keepers card. that, and i totally believe in karma. don't worry... i'll get mine one of these days JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE. or... maybe it's my karma i'm due! i was really heartbroken about losing blue dean - maybe this is her karmatic equivalent. (i can go to any lengths to excuse thievery, can i not?)

Don't worry, I washed it before putting it on. No cooties for me, plskthnks!

Saturday evening, we were issued, and took up, a very special invitation! We were invited to come over to not one, but TWO former Atlanta Falcons' house and watch the Falcons in the playoff games against the Green Bay Packers! Former Falcons player, Will Overstreet, and his wife, former Falcons cheerleader, Jennifer Overstreet, were kind enough to have us to their house for the party.

And yes. I totally had intentions to ask Jennifer if I could try on her cheerleading outfit SHUT UP. Never mind that it would have fit around one thigh, I was ready to give it the old college try for a photo op. But I think Jennifer saw that one coming and wisely for her:

keeps her uniform behind glass. i'm on to you, overstreet...

the overstreets get props for keeping their momentos behind glass

And here we have a shot of the whole motley crew:

check me out trying to support the falcons in my red and black! i guess i didn't do a good job though... the packers pounded the poor falcons.

Thank you for the kind invitation, Overstreets! We had a great time! Oh, and while at their house I got the opportunity to meet new friends - Kyle and Laura. We had a great time visiting with the two of them - we started chatting because as it turns out, they are both training for a marathon too! And, they live on a farm and care for four horses! And both have full-time jobs! I seriously couldn't figure out when they made time to sleep...

Alrighty, off to go find something for supper! Have a great week!
