On Monday, I went to lunch with a-stinkin'-dorable niece and neffie-poos, Lucy and Max (and their Mom, Kim came too). We decided to stroll and check out the progress of the Knoxville Christmas tree and when they saw it, they took off running toward it because they were so excited. (Kim managed to maintain and not run screaming toward the tree, BTW.)
see ya! wouldn't wanna be ya!
we were cooking supper the other night and i realized tommy was totes dressed in all addidas. shoes, pants, jacket. he makes the look work, no?
On Thursday, Amanda, Kristina and I went to a wine tasting class. It was so super fun!!
i learned i drink crap on a regular basis
As per usual, Amanda rebels against convention and refuses to wear a name tag.
i will not be labeled, damn you.
After class we got to tour the facility (old faculty club). Here I am in a deep freeze with some fancy ice sculptures! They made them with chain saws!
This is my favorite picture of me and Kristina taken at a tailgate last football season:
oh look. laughing. what an odd occurrence for me; i'm just so stoic most of the time.
we tried to recreate, but we lost something in the revision. oh well. laughing was still involved!
the fab weekend was topped off with brunch at mi casa. tana, causey, the whole mowrer clan and the smiths - here i am feeding mr. rowdy mowrer! row mow's living up to his name, no?
Ya'll. Best. Week. Ever. As far as solid weeks go in normal time (not like vacations or anything) this was probably a top ten. Had so much fun and got to do so many fun thing! I'm so stinkin' lucky I can't stand myownself!
So you'll excuse me for the next statement: after all the fun and activities, after I cleaned up and wiped down the house, I went for a little lie-down about 4 PM on Sunday. I woke up practically in the middle of the night.
Sigh. Sometimes you just gotta slow down.
I leave you with a few more images from the Santa Claus collection (I'm ramping up because we're getting close to the Big Day and we haven't covered a lot of my collection!)
"tnt" claus! he had matches inside of him, but i took them out because i store the collection in my hotter-than-the-hinges-of-hades attic
this is a music box - my auntie suzy gave it to grandmommy for her collection. it plays "santa claus is coming to town" but i call it "hard of hearing" claus. HA HA! i'm hilarious.
this was a gift from my in-laws when i got my m.s. in december of '06! please meet mr. "weeble wobble" claus!
here is santa taking a tub after a long hard winter's night. i call him "exhibitionist" claus.
It's Thanksgiving this week and not to be cliche but OMG I sure have a lot to be thankful for. Well. I did grow a zit this week the size of Texas. That stinks.
If that's my worst complaint I'd say I'm still in the top 1% happiest people on the planet!! Wheee!!!
